Maplewood Community Library

The Maplewood Community Library, constructed in 1959, offers library services for adults, teens, and children.  The building includes a meeting room (seats 35) which can be reserved for community meetings and events. The door from the parking lot is handicapped accessible.

Maplewood YMCA

A community institution since 1916, the Maplewood Y offers group exercise classes, strength training equipment, gym, sauna, and indoor swimming pool. Home to the Caroline “Lily” Lobozzo Aging Resource Center and the City Waves youth swim team.

Fire Department

The Dewey and Ridgeway Firehouse is located at 1477 Dewey Avenue. Common emergencies include rescue, emergency medical calls, natural gas and electrical problems, rubbish, vehicle and structure fires. The Rochester Fire Department also provides first responder services for life threatening medical emergencies. To reach the Fire Department, DIAL 911.

Neighborhood Service Center

The Northwest Quadrant Neighborhood Service Center is intended to improve the community by working together with residents to solve problems such as blighted properties, unmaintained, vacant, or underutilized commercial properties, and safety in our City. The City’s Department of Environmental Services (DES) helps provide safe, clean and attractive surroundings for residents by furnishing many essential services. Solid waste pick up in Maplewood is every Monday unless changed by a holiday or severe weather.
