An announcement from Kodak:
“Please be advised that Eastman Kodak intends to demolish part of building 53 on Eastman Avenue by means of implosion. The event will take place on July 18, 2015 at 08:00 am. In the event of high winds or lightning it will be postponed till the following day. This work will be performed by Moses B Glick LLC and Dykon Explosive Demolition Corp. It is important to understand that the scope of this work is limited to the core of the building and the exhaust stacks. The remaining perimeter will be demolished by conventional methods.
Noise and vibration from the implosions should be brief and moderate. There will be a concrete dust cloud in the vicinity of the building for a relatively brief period after the implosion. Every effort will be made to manage dust afterwards during the removal of debris. Prior to actual implosion of the building, all hazardous materials and combustibles are removed. Work is currently ongoing with monitoring by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. In all phases of the demolition, we are committed to taking the appropriate steps to protect the health and safety of both employees and the community.”
